Oren Sreebny
Senior Director, Emerging Technologies & Communications

Oren is a nationally recognized senior technology leader with strengths in innovation strategies, strategic development, program and product management. His passion is using technology to foster creativity and innovation within higher education and research organizations.
Oren has over twenty years in leadership positions in higher education where he has built a record of success leading organizations in creating, implementing, and managing technology strategies.
Oren believes:
- IT organizations can and should play an integral part in creating meaningful environments for learning, teaching, and research.
- Information technology is best when used by everyone.
- Simplicity and ease of use cannot be overemphasized.
- Collaboration is key - everyone has a voice.
In his current position as Senior Director for Emerging Technologies at the University of Chicago, Oren leads IT innovation strategies, the development and implementation of cloud strategy, and directs a team of designers, developers, and innovators. He also works with colleagues from multiple institutions in various national efforts.
